How students usually rent

A semester at a time

Tell us your start date and how many weeks. The agreement has a planned end date; extend it in writing if the semester or placement runs on.

No loan, nothing to sell later

Weekly rent and a refundable bond, with registration and scheduled servicing already in place. When you finish, you hand the keys back.

Share the driving properly

Anyone else who drives must be named on the agreement and meet the same requirements. Unnamed drivers are not permitted.

Questions from students

Can students rent a car by the week?

Yes. Students rent on the same terms as anyone else: a current driver's licence, photo ID, the refundable bond and the weekly rent paid in advance.

Can I rent for a whole semester?

Yes. Tell us your semester or placement dates and we will quote for that length. Agreements have a planned end date and can be extended in writing if you need longer.

Is there a student discount?

There is no published student discount; the weekly rent shown on each car applies. Ask when you enquire if you are committing to a long term.

I'm an international student. Can I rent on my overseas licence?

We'll confirm eligibility for your licence and age when you enquire. Tell us the country that issued your licence, whether it is in English and your age.

Can my housemate drive the car too?

Only drivers named on the agreement may drive. An additional driver must meet the same licence and age requirements and be added in writing before they drive.

Is insurance included?

Cover and excess are explained in your agreement before you sign — ask us.

What happens at the end of semester?

Return the car on the planned end date, or tell us before then and we extend in writing. The bond is settled after the return inspection.
