Weekly rental

Weekly car rental in Melbourne: rent by the week, pay by the week

Our cars are rented on a weekly basis rather than daily. You pay one weekly rate that includes a kilometre allowance, put down a refundable bond, and keep the car for as many weeks as you need.

How weekly car rental works here

One weekly rate

Each car shows its weekly rent. That rate includes the listed kilometre allowance per week; kilometres above the allowance are charged at the extra-kilometre rate shown on the car.

Minimum term

Each car has a minimum rental length, shown on its page.

Refundable bond

A bond is held for the rental and refunded after the return inspection, less any deductions agreed under your signed terms (for example unpaid tolls or a damage excess). Any deduction comes with an itemised statement.

Weekly payments

Rent is paid weekly in advance by a payment method we agree in writing, paid weekly in advance. Your agreement sets the payment day and what happens if a payment is missed.

What weekly rent covers

Registration, scheduled servicing and roadside assistance where the car carries it. Fuel, tolls, fines and parking are yours. Cover and excess are explained in your agreement before you sign — ask us.

Extending

Want to keep the car longer? Tell us before your planned return date. If the car is not booked by someone else, we extend the agreement in writing and keep billing weekly.

Details of each item above, including fee amounts, are in your signed agreement. See the rental terms summary.

Pickup and return

What happens at pickup and at return

At pickup

  1. We check your driver's licence and photo ID against the rental requirements.
  2. We walk around the car together and photograph its condition. Existing marks are recorded so they are never attributed to you.
  3. You read and sign the rental agreement electronically on a tablet, and receive a copy with the condition report.
  4. The first week's rent and the bond are paid; fuel level and odometer are recorded.

At return

  1. Return the car to the agreed location at the agreed time, with fuel at the level set in the agreement.
  2. We inspect the car together against the pickup photos and read the odometer.
  3. Any extra kilometres, missing fuel or new damage is itemised against the agreement.
  4. The bond is refunded within the timeframe in your agreement, less any agreed deductions.

Weekly rental questions

Can I rent for just a few days?

No. Our cars are rented by the week with a minimum term shown on each car. For a weekend or a few days, a daily hire company is the better fit.

When is rent due?

Weekly in advance, on the payment day set in your agreement. Your first week and the bond are paid before or at pickup.

What if I go over the kilometre allowance?

Kilometres above the allowance are charged at the extra-kilometre rate shown on the car and in your agreement, calculated from the odometer at return. If you expect to drive a lot, ask for a higher allowance when you enquire.

Is insurance included?

Cover and excess are explained in your agreement before you sign — ask us.

Can I rent on an overseas or provisional licence?

We'll confirm eligibility for your licence and age when you enquire. Tell us your licence type and the country that issued it.

Can I return the car early?

Yes, with notice. Your agreement sets out whether any rent for the remainder of the minimum term is payable. The bond is refunded after the return inspection in the usual way.

Do I need a credit card?

No. You need an agreed payment method for the weekly rent and the bond. We never store full card numbers or bank details ourselves.
